Hanbyul Ryu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Hanyang University ERICA campus. He obtained a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus and a master's and doctoral degree in Economics from the University of California-Riverside campus. Prior to joining Hanyang University , he worked as a research associate at the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP).
His research field focuses on labor/health/development economics, primarily conducting research to identify the causal effects of policies related to the labor market. His recent areas of interest include caregiving, automation, and topics related to immigration.
