Professor Jeon Sang-gil graduated from the Business School of Korea University and obtained a master's and doctorate degree (advisory professor: Dr. Kim Linsu) in HRM(Human Resource Management)/OB(Organizational Behavior) at the Graduate School of Business of Korea University. After graduation, he served as a senior researcher at the Strategic Planning Office at SK Telecom and has been a professor of business administration at Hanyang University's ERICA Campus from 1995 to the present. He was an exchange professor at the University of Victoria Gustavson School of Business in Canada. He currently heads the Center for Organization Science &Innovation under the Industrial Management Research Institute and teaches subjects such as organizational innovation, strategic human resource management, creativity management and research methodology at universities and graduate schools.
Major books include "Change and Innovation in Korean Companies," "Knowledge and Learning and Innovation," "Knowledge Management of the Finnish Parliament," "Principles and Implementation Strategies for Creative Management," and most recently, "Human Resource Management for Creative Management, Ask for Way," and "Failing Businesses Have Reasons." In addition, he has published more than 60 papers in domestic and foreign professional journals such as International Journal of Management-Theory and Applications, International Journal of Learning, Korean Management Review, Korean Journal of Management, Journal of Organizational Management, The Korean Association of Small Business Studies etc. In 2018, he received the Hanyang University Award for Outstanding Researcher, and in 2021, it received the Industrial-Academic Cooperation Excellence Award.
In particular, in the public sector, he was appointed as a member of the President's evaluation committee on nationaIn addition, he has been active as a member of the management evaluation committee of the Science and Technology Research Association (formerly the Basic Technology Research Association) under the Prime Minister, and a member of the National R&D Project Review Committee (KISTEP). Recently, he is a member of the Public Officials Innovation Committee (the Prime Minister's Office), and the Ministry of Personnel Innovation is actively providing professional advice as a private advisor and an innovation TF member, and now as a policy advisor to the National Civil Service Human Resources Development Institute. Most recently, he has been active as a member of the Management Innovation Committee and ESG Committee of the Public Officials Pension Service. In addition, he served as a research advisor at the Jeju Research Institute (JRI) and a policy advisor at the Korea Transportation Safety Corporation. Meanwhile, he served as a member of the government innovation evaluation committee organized by the Ministry of Strategy and Finance. In particular, he has recently led the internationalization of industry-academia by working as a management advisor and chief professor of the Hanyang G-CEO (HGCEO) course at the Orange County Chamber of Commerce in California. As a result, he received letters of appreciation from several lawmakers in California.In addition, he is a member of the steering committee of the global campus of Ghent University, a world-renowned university in Belgium, and an external innovation committee of Korea University's College of Engineering. He is also a member of the management committee of Yeonam University, which is run by LG Group.Meanwhile, he is also working as a judge for Korea's management grand prize, Korea's talent management grand prize, respected companies, and Korea's customer satisfaction management grand prize organized by the Korea Management Association Consulting. In particular, he has been working as an expert member of the Federation of Korean Industries' Win-Win Cooperation Center and has led the development of a shared growth model for Korean small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, it provides professional management advice to major domestic companies such as POSCO (co-growth field), LG Electronics (co-growth field), Lotte Mart (co-growth field), LG Chem (HRD field), LG Innotek (R&D strategy field), LS Cable (overseas business field), and 7-Eleven (personnel system design field). Most recently, he is an outside director of Park Systems Co., Ltd., an atomic microscope manufacturer and a global small and medium-sized company, and a management advisor at the Midas IT Jain Research Institute. In addition, he has been appointed as an expert member of Shinhan Bank's recruitment committee to provide professional advice to prevent hiring irregularities in the banking sector in advance.In 2019, he led the innovation of the society by serving as the president of the Korean Human Resources Development Association.He is the vice chairman of the Korean Management Association, chairman of the Neuro Management Committee, and executives of the Korean Human Resources Organization Association and the Korean Human Resources Management Association.
